As a child Katy Coburn was very interested in ‘things’ that her Granny Mac did. These things, at times, appeared to go against what should happen. Therefore they were magic. So Katy had a sneaking suspicion that her Gran was more than she appeared to be. She also wondered why her Gran took the trouble to show and tell her about such happenings.
